Alia bint Abdulla Al Mazrouei, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, inaugurated the 13th edition of Step Dubai at Dubai Internet City, a key hub under TECOM Group PJSC.
The annual tech-focused event, held in strategic partnership with Dubai Internet City, serves as a platform for startups, investors, and innovators across the region.
During the opening ceremony, the minister toured the event alongside prominent officials, including Abdulla Belhoul, CEO of TECOM Group; Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at TECOM Group and Managing Director of Dubai Internet City; and Ray Dargham, CEO of Step.
Ammar Al Malik highlighted the role of entrepreneurship in shaping technological advancements aligned with Dubai’s Economic Agenda ‘D33’. He emphasized Step Dubai’s contribution to fostering innovation and its legacy in bringing global talent together.
A major highlight of the event was the announcement of Step’s continued international expansion with Step Istanbul debuting on May 12 as its first Host Partner Event, followed by the return of Step San Francisco on August 20. This move marks a significant milestone for the Dubai-born platform, enabling it to extend its impact beyond the Middle East.
Step CEO Ray Dargham noted the significance of this expansion, stating:
"Step has always been about connecting founders, investors, and innovators. With our hosting model, we are empowering partners to bring Step’s experience to their markets, backed by our expertise and resources."
With over 8,000 attendees and 200 speakers, Step Dubai 2025 continues its legacy of fostering innovation, offering startups access to $9 billion in funding and further solidifying its role as the Middle East’s leading tech event.
