Dubai will once again become the centre of international youth football as it hosts the third edition of the MENA Cup, taking place from April 9 to 14, 2025, at the Jebel Ali Golf & Shooting Club.

Organised by CBF Performance and supported by the Dubai Sports Council, the tournament will feature 44 teams from 12 countries across six continents, including some of the world’s most respected youth football academies.

Global Participation & Competitive Edge

Over 800 young players, aged 12 to 16, will compete in 120 matches across five age categories. High-profile international clubs such as Norwich City (England), Melbourne City (Australia), Corinthians (Brazil), Columbus Crew (USA), and Rangers (Scotland) will face off against top UAE academies, offering players a unique opportunity to experience diverse footballing styles.

22 teams from Europe, Africa, India, and the Americas will challenge 22 UAE-based teams, providing a dynamic, cross-cultural environment that supports talent development and global exposure.

Supporting Youth and Sports Tourism

Speaking at the tournament launch press conference, Ahmed Salem Al Mahri, Director of Sports Talent Development at Dubai Sports Council, highlighted the Council’s ongoing support:

“This tournament reflects our commitment to nurturing sports talent and positioning Dubai as a global sports destination. It is a model public-private partnership that promotes youth development and enhances Dubai’s reputation in international sports.”

The event is also a key driver of sports tourism, with over 1,000 attendees expected, including coaches, officials, and families.

Organisers and Ambassadors

Chris Brown, Founder of the MENA Cup, expressed his excitement:

“We’re proud to bring top-tier youth football to Dubai. This year’s edition is set to be the most impactful yet, with world-class talent and unforgettable experiences for players and fans alike.”

For the first time, the MENA Cup has appointed a local ambassadorLucas Pimenta, UAE national team player and Al Wahda defender—who will join long-time international ambassador Teddy Sheringham in inspiring young players and mentoring teams.

Luke Plumb, representative of the tournament venue, added:

“Hosting the MENA Cup for the third year is an honour. We’re committed to delivering a first-class experience for players, families, and fans.”

Group Stage Draws Across Five Age Groups

The official group draws for all age categories were also announced:

  • Under-12: Teams from UAE, Scotland, England, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Kazakhstan
  • Under-13: Featuring Barcelona Academy, Melbourne City, and Manchester City Academy
  • Under-14: Includes teams from Australia, Zambia, Northern Ireland, and UAE
  • Under-15: Corinthians (Brazil), Columbus Crew (USA), and top regional sides to compete
  • Under-16: Manchester City Academy and Kavuy Celtic (Zambia) headline the age group

Fan Engagement & Accessibility

The tournament will be streamed live on the MENA Cup YouTube channel, ensuring global access for fans, families, and scouts. Entry to matches is free to the public, with on-site fan activities and family-friendly events enriching the overall experience.
