The Supreme Committee for Development of Hatta has delivered a major phase of projects aimed at elevating the region’s infrastructure, tourism appeal and community services.
The committee, chaired by Mattar Al Tayer of Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority, confirmed the completion of new leisure, educational and agricultural facilities as part of the Hatta Comprehensive Development Plan.
A central highlight is the new Hatta Dam Amphitheatre, a 610 metre structure that provides a comfortable ascent to the dam’s summit. The route features six rest areas and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The design supports People of Determination and preserves the natural terrain through suspended construction techniques.
Visitors will also benefit from upgraded connectivity, including links to the Hatta Waterfalls project. The dam area now features enhanced amenities and a large mosaic mural created from more than one million pieces of natural marble.
A new fully serviced school has been delivered to support the local community. Spanning 18,600 square metres, the facility accommodates more than 1,000 students and includes classrooms, laboratories, sports halls and a 416 seat theatre. The school incorporates solar panels, efficient cooling systems and smart water solutions to reduce energy use.
The committee has also completed maintenance works across four existing schools, upgrading laboratories, sports facilities, lighting, irrigation and air conditioning systems.
Three farms have been developed to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agriculture. The Strawberry Farm, Hatta Farm and Leafy Greens Farm now operate advanced hydroponic systems, upgraded greenhouses and training facilities to enhance production.
Ongoing works include the Hatta Majlis, a new wedding hall, community service centre, residential neighbourhoods for citizens and further improvements to mobility, healthcare and sports facilities across the region.
