In the context of enhancing the digital knowledge society and economy, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) emphasised the significance of implementing the principles outlined in the National Digital Accessibility Policy adopted by the cabinet, to facilitate access to diverse digital services for all segments of society, including people of determination and senior citizens.

The National Digital Accessibility Policy aims to provide equal access to services and information for people of determination, aligning with the UAE Government Charter for Future Services. It emphasizes removing barriers to ensure everyone can benefit from platforms and websites. This policy supports the UAE's digital transformation leadership and its commitment to UN sustainable development goals, prioritizing inclusivity and leaving no one behind. It outlines principles for digital service providers to follow, ensuring technologies enable equal access for all, regardless of capabilities or backgrounds.

Eng. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, TDRA Director-General, emphasizes implementing the National Digital Accessibility Policy to align with the UAE's 2031 vision of an advanced social enabling system. He underscores the importance of enabling people of determination and solidarity within UAE society.

Eng. Mohammad Al Zarooni, TDRA Deputy Director-General, highlights TDRA's role in providing digital infrastructure and formulating regulatory frameworks to enhance digital accessibility. The introduction of the UAE Design System 2.0 prioritizes accessibility, guided by international standards like the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

TDRA aims to foster public-private collaboration to accelerate digital transformation and achieve policy objectives, emphasizing investment in digital infrastructure and modern technologies.

In collaboration with federal and local government entities, TDRA is actively engaged in developing programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing digital accessibility and delivering comprehensive and efficient digital government services to cater to all segments of society, including people of determination and senior citizens, ensuring inclusivity and equal access to essential digital services.
