TECOM Group PJSC has acquired an integrated university campus spanning more than 300,000 square feet in Dubai International Academic City, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the UAE’s fast growing higher education sector amid strong demand from international universities.
The AED 125 million acquisition includes multiple buildings within one of Dubai’s key education hubs and reflects rising interest in premium educational assets. Demand is being driven by long-term government strategies such as the National Strategy for Higher Education 2030, the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, and the Education 33 Strategy E33.
The deal strengthens TECOM Group’s Education Cluster, which comprises Dubai International Academic City and Dubai Knowledge Park and currently operates at a 99 percent occupancy rate. The cluster already hosts more than 85 percent of students enrolled in private higher education institutions across Dubai.
Since its listing in July 2022, TECOM Group has invested over AED 5.5 billion across its Commercial and Industrial portfolio. The Group plans to upgrade and enhance the newly acquired campus to meet high quality standards and support the needs of globally recognised academic institutions.
Chief Executive Officer Abdulla Belhoul said the acquisition underscores TECOM Group’s role in positioning Dubai as a global hub for education and talent development. He added that Dubai International Academic City is well placed to attract students and academics from around the world.
The acquisition was financed through existing resources and completed following independent evaluations and regulatory approvals. Dubai International Academic City is home to leading universities and serves more than 38,500 students within a purpose-built education ecosystem.
