Google Cloud has recently announced its plans to establish its first cloud region in Thailand. In collaboration with the government, Google Cloud has confirmed that the cloud region in Thailand will be located in Bangkok. This strategic move aims to bring the power and benefits of Google Cloud services closer to businesses and organizations in Thailand, enabling them to leverage advanced cloud technologies for their digital transformation initiatives.
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (MDES) and Google Cloud are collaborating to leverage generative AI (gen AI) and harness the power of Google Cloud technologies for the efficient development of scalable solutions that benefit the public. This partnership aims to focus on priority areas such as e-government services, financial technology, healthcare, education, and transportation.
In collaboration with MDES and the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI), Google is providing an additional 12,000 Google Career Certificate scholarships through its Samart Skills program. This program was initially introduced in October 2022, and with this new offering, Google’s total commitment now stands at 34,000 scholarships. These scholarships aim to assist more individuals in Thailand in acquiring valuable skills and obtaining professional certifications, all at no cost.
