Theme of Emirati Women’s Day 2022 will be 'Inspiring Reality..Sustainable Future'

H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), has confirmed that the theme of Emirati Women’s Day 2022, held on 28th August, will be "Inspiring Reality.. Sustainable Future".

In her speech on the occasion, Sheikha Fatima said Emirati women have proven that there is no task that is impossible, due to their hard work and innovation, noting that the country’s impressive successes in women’s empowerment were achieved thanks to the support of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan; His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.

Noura Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the GWU, expressed her pride at celebrating the annual Emirati Women’s Day this year amidst an exceptional atmosphere, as the country is celebrating its various achievements, including in women’s empowerment, due to the support of its leadership, which followed the approach of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

She also lauded the efforts of Sheikha Fatima to support the journey of Emirati women and prepare qualified generations capable of protecting the country’s achievements.

The theme of the 2022 edition of Emirati Women’s Day highlights the country’s journey in women’s empowerment, which began some 50 years ago with the formation of the UAE on 2nd December, 1971 by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who prioritised investing in human resources, as he believed that people are the true wealth of the nation. He also prioritised gender equality.

The theme will also highlight the UAE’s achievements in women’s empowerment and promote the bright image of Emirati women, as well as continue developing their capacities.
