Thumbay Group Set to Launch UAE's First AI in Healthcare College in Dubai

Ajman-based Thumbay Group, a prominent player in healthcare and education services, announced plans to establish the Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare, marking a significant venture into niche education in the UAE.

Founder and President Dr. Thumbay Moideen revealed the college will open in Dubai within a year, with subsequent expansions slated for Saudi Arabia, London, and Singapore.

Speaking at an industry partners meet hosted by Gulf Medical University (GMU), Moideen emphasized the strategic growth despite challenges posed by Covid-19, highlighting the group's resilience and commitment to expansion across healthcare, education, and other sectors.

The new college, set to accommodate nearly 300 students initially, will offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs specializing in AI in healthcare, a pioneering initiative in the region. Recruitment for specialized professionals and administrative staff, totaling 100, will commence by January 2025, six months prior to the facility's opening.

Thumbay Group, known for its extensive academic health system encompassing hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and labs, aims to bolster its educational offerings with new courses and expand GMU's global presence. Plans include doubling program capacity and introducing innovative courses in artificial intelligence and informatics in healthcare by 2025-2026.

Professor Hossam Hamdy, Chancellor of GMU, outlined the institution's vision to lead in AI integration and healthcare innovation over the next five years, reflecting Thumbay Group's ambitious strides towards pioneering advancements in education and healthcare globally.
