TRENDS Research & Advisory and India’s Centre of Geoeconomics for the Global South (COGGS) have formalised a strategic partnership through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at boosting collaborative research and knowledge exchange.

The agreement, signed via videoconference by Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ali, CEO of TRENDS, and Mohammed Saqib, Convenor of COGGS, sets the stage for joint research efforts and expert engagement across key policy areas. This partnership is designed to foster impactful, society-oriented research that aligns with the priorities of both institutions and supports sustainable development across the Global South.

Under the MoU, the two think tanks will collaborate on a range of initiatives including joint research in social, political, and economic fields, as well as future-focused studies. The agreement also outlines plans for the exchange of non-resident experts and researchers, who will contribute to publications and participate in research events hosted by both organisations.

“This MoU is a pivotal step in broadening our collaboration with global research institutions,”

said Dr. Al-Ali.

“It reflects our shared commitment to advancing knowledge through mutual expertise and meaningful academic cooperation.”

Mohammed Saqib echoed the sentiment, stating,

“This partnership will support research that addresses the unique challenges of the Global South and contributes to inclusive and sustainable growth.”

The collaboration between TRENDS and COGGS underscores a growing emphasis on global knowledge networks, especially those focused on elevating voices and solutions from developing regions. By combining their strengths, both institutions aim to enrich the global research landscape and provide informed, evidence-based insights to policy and decision-makers.
