Tunisia’s food exports to the UAE have reached approximately AED140 million annually, reinforcing the depth of trade ties between the two countries and highlighting the growing role of food industries in bilateral economic exchange.

Youssef Bioudh, Head of the Tunisian Export Promotion Office in Dubai, said total trade between Tunisia and the UAE stands at around 956 million Tunisian dinars. Tunisian exports account for roughly 356 million dinars of that figure, with food products representing nearly one third of total exports.

Bioudh noted that Tunisia’s participation in Gulfood this year marks its 19th appearance at the global exhibition, reflecting a long-term commitment to the UAE market. He described the UAE as a strategic regional and international trade hub that plays a central role in expanding Tunisia’s export reach.

This year’s presence is also the country’s largest to date. The Tunisian pavilion has doubled in size to 510 square metres compared to previous editions, alongside a rise in the number of participating companies.

A total of 48 Tunisian companies are showcasing products within the main pavilion at Expo Dubai, spanning key food categories such as dates, pastries, biscuits, and olive oil. An additional 13 companies are participating at Dubai World Trade Centre under a dedicated packaged olive oil pavilion.

In total, 61 Tunisian companies are officially represented at Gulfood Dubai this year, in addition to individual participants, underscoring the sector’s momentum and Tunisia’s focus on expanding its footprint in the UAE food market.
