The UAE Accountability Authority has signed two Memoranda of Understanding with leading oversight and anti-corruption institutions in the Republic of Ecuador, marking a significant step toward strengthening international cooperation in audit, integrity, and anti-corruption efforts.

The agreements aim to enhance collaboration in audit and oversight, promote transparency, and support joint initiatives to combat corruption. They also reflect a shared commitment to exchanging expertise and strengthening institutional capacities in both countries.

The first MoU was signed with the Office of the Comptroller General of the State of Ecuador during an official visit by Dr. Mauricio Torres, Comptroller General of Ecuador, who was received by Humaid Obaid Abu Shibs, Chairman of the UAE Accountability Authority. The agreement focuses on developing cooperation in audit and oversight practices and advancing technical and professional collaboration.

A second MoU was concluded with Public Integrity of Ecuador, in the presence of José Julio Neira Hanze, Secretary General of Public Integrity. This agreement concentrates on enhancing cooperation in integrity systems and anti-corruption frameworks, as well as sharing best practices in prevention and enforcement.

Officials said the agreements underscore the UAE Accountability Authority’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships and reinforcing principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance.

By strengthening ties with specialised institutions in Ecuador, the Authority aims to support the development of effective audit and integrity frameworks, while contributing to global efforts to combat corruption and promote institutional excellence.
