Building on their historic and fraternal ties, the UAE and Bahrain are set to advance industrial cooperation through the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in January 2024.

This partnership aligns the UAE’s National In-Country Value (ICV) Programme and Bahrain’s Takamul Programme to foster economic integration and bolster private sector growth.

Under the MoU, Bahraini industrial enterprises can now apply for the UAE’s National ICV certification, enabling their participation in federal government procurement tenders. Similarly, Emirati enterprises can benefit from Bahrain’s Takamul Programme by obtaining a 10% preference after completing the qualification process through Bahrain's online portal.

Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, praised the collaboration, highlighting its potential to enhance private sector competitiveness and drive sustainable economic development.

“This strategic partnership strengthens supply chain resilience and supports the manufacturing of high-quality domestic goods, reducing reliance on imports,”

he stated.

Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Bahrain’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, lauded the initiative as a vital step in advancing joint economic growth. He emphasized that such partnerships embody the leadership visions of UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

This agreement is expected to elevate industrial integration, promote self-sufficiency, and achieve long-term prosperity for both nations, cementing their roles as regional leaders in sustainable economic collaboration.
