The UAE government’s Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications Office has announced a strategic partnership with the Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy of the Republic of Cyprus.
The collaboration aims to strengthen digital cooperation, exchange best practices in artificial intelligence, and drive the growth of the digital economy while enhancing community well-being.
The agreement was signed by Omar Sultan Al Olama, UAE Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, and Dr. Nikodimos Damianou, Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy of Cyprus. The signing underscores both nations’ commitment to accelerating digital innovation and fostering global cooperation in AI and advanced technologies.
Al Olama highlighted that under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE continues to build international collaborations that drive AI advancements. He emphasized that such partnerships align with the vision of the World Governments Summit, reinforcing the UAE’s role as a global hub for digital innovation and knowledge exchange.
Dr. Damianou stated that the agreement facilitates the exchange of AI policies, encourages joint research projects, and strengthens collaboration between academic and research institutions. He further noted that the partnership will support AI talent development and the creation of AI-driven products and services.
The UAE-Cyprus alliance marks a significant step toward advancing AI capabilities, leveraging expertise, and shaping a sustainable future driven by technological progress.
