UAE and Cyprus Strengthen Parliamentary and Diplomatic Cooperation

Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence Affairs, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Constantinos Kombos, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, to discuss advancing bilateral relations and parliamentary cooperation.

Held in the presence of FNC member Sultan Salem Al Zaabi and Meropi Christofi, Ambassador of Cyprus to the UAE, the meeting focused on reinforcing the longstanding friendship between the two nations and expanding collaboration across key sectors.

Both sides highlighted the growing importance of parliamentary diplomacy as a complement to political engagement, emphasizing its role in promoting mutual understanding and supporting shared goals.

Dr. Al Nuaimi underscored that the UAE’s commitment to tolerance, coexistence, and the rejection of hate speech forms the foundation of its domestic and foreign policies. He noted that these values guide the country’s efforts to build bridges of cooperation and contribute to regional and global peace, stability, and sustainable development.

Minister Kombos commended the UAE’s leadership and expressed appreciation for its role in fostering strong bilateral ties. He pointed to promising opportunities for deeper cooperation in the economy, energy, renewable energy, and industry sectors, stressing that continued parliamentary dialogue will help unlock new avenues for joint growth and prosperity.
