UAE and Djibouti Strengthen Parliamentary Diplomacy
Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), engaged in a high-level discussion with Dileita Mohamed Dileita, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Djibouti, focusing on enhancing parliamentary diplomacy between the two nations.
The meeting, held at the FNC's headquarters in Abu Dhabi, underscored the importance of fostering cooperation and coordination across various sectors.
The discussion emphasized the deep-rooted bilateral relations between the UAE and Djibouti, built on mutual respect, coordination, and joint action on national, regional, and international issues. Ghobash highlighted the UAE's commitment, under its wise leadership, to further develop these relations, ensuring they align with the developmental goals of both nations and contribute to the prosperity of their peoples.
Both sides recognized the critical role of parliamentary diplomacy in unifying positions on shared regional and international issues. The exchange of parliamentary experiences and knowledge was also identified as a key area for collaboration. The meeting was attended by Maryam Majid bin Theneya, Second Deputy Speaker of the FNC, and several FNC members.
Dileita Mohamed Dileita affirmed the significance of strengthening cooperation, particularly in parliamentary matters, to promote cultural dialogue and understanding between the two friendly nations. The meeting concluded with a mutual commitment to further enhancing the ties between the UAE and Djibouti through coordinated efforts in various fields.
