Sarah Al Amiri, UAE Minister of Education, hosted Petteri Orpo, Prime Minister of Finland, at the Zayed Educational Complex in Dubai to explore avenues for enhancing bilateral educational cooperation.

The meeting aimed to align efforts toward shared national educational goals, focusing on fostering innovation and academic excellence.

Discussions centered on curriculum development, modern teaching methods, and teacher training programs. Both parties shared insights into Finland’s renowned educational practices and explored ways to integrate them into the UAE’s national education system.

The meeting was attended by Mohammed Al Qasim, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Education; Amna Mahmoud, UAE Ambassador to Finland; Tuula Yrjölä, Finnish Ambassador to the UAE; and senior officials from both nations.

Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri emphasized the UAE Ministry of Education’s commitment to adopting global best practices, particularly Finland’s, to strengthen the national education system’s competitiveness. She highlighted the UAE’s focus on innovation as a key pillar in advancing education and fostering sustainable development.

On the sidelines, Al Amiri accompanied the Finnish delegation on a tour of the Zayed Educational Complex, showcasing its cutting-edge facilities, including advanced labs, creative spaces, and playgrounds. The complex reflects the UAE’s vision to promote a culture of innovation and modern teaching strategies in education.

This high-level meeting reinforced the strong academic ties between the UAE and Finland and reiterated both nations’ shared commitment to advancing educational systems through collaborative partnerships and knowledge exchange.
