Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber and German Minister Katherina Reiche officially launched the UAE-Germany Business Council in Berlin, marking a significant step toward expanding bilateral trade, investment, and sustainable development.
The high-level ceremony drew over 150 senior officials and business leaders from both nations. The council aims to strengthen the decades-long economic partnership by fostering collaboration across key sectors and supporting private sector growth in a changing global landscape.
Dr. Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, emphasized the council’s role in promoting inclusive progress and building high-impact partnerships.
“The launch will create new opportunities for cooperation, empower the private sector, and support sustainable economic development,”
he said.
The council’s charter was signed by Musabbeh Al Kaabi of ADNOC and Günther Oettinger, former Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, who will co-chair the council.
Al Kaabi noted that the council reflects a shared ambition grounded in innovation and mutual interest, adding that it will drive sustainable growth and enhance cooperation between the UAE and Germany.
The event also saw Masdar and Germany’s EnBW sign a memorandum of understanding to explore battery storage and offshore wind projects in Germany and the UK, further reinforcing the countries’ joint push toward clean energy solutions.
