Dubai and India have taken a major leap forward in bilateral cooperation, with the signing of eight Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) across vital sectors including infrastructure, healthcare, education, logistics, and maritime services.
The agreements were witnessed by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, during an official visit to Mumbai.
The MoUs, signed at a Dubai Chambers event, reflect the deepening strategic relationship between the two nations.
"India and the UAE are bound by a shared vision for innovation, opportunity, and sustainable growth,"
Sheikh Hamdan said, highlighting the momentum driven by frameworks like the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
Dubai Chambers signed agreements with CII, FICCI, and IMC to boost private sector cooperation, support cross-border expansion, and facilitate trade missions. Separately, DP World and India’s RITES inked a deal to strengthen logistics and supply chains, leveraging the UAE-India Virtual Trade Corridor launched in 2024.
In maritime collaboration, Drydocks World partnered with Cochin Shipyard to jointly develop ship repair clusters and marine engineering projects aligned with India’s Maritime Vision 2030.
Furthering academic ties, the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and IIM Ahmedabad agreed to establish a new IIMA campus in Dubai, with its MBA programme set to launch this year and a permanent campus planned by 2029.
Healthcare cooperation also advanced with Dubai Health and UAE-India business leaders launching the not-for-profit UAE-India Friendship Hospital. Additionally, Dubai Medical University and AIIMS signed an MoU focused on research and academic exchange in global health and digital medical education.
The agreements reinforce a shared commitment to innovation-driven, inclusive growth and mark a new chapter in UAE-India economic and institutional cooperation.
