In a significant step to strengthen cultural ties between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of India, H.E. Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, co-chaired a high-level meeting with K. Nandini Singla, Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).

The UAE delegation included key officials:

  • Mubarak Al Nakhi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture
  • Ghanem Al Hajeri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports
  • Abdulnasser Alshaali, UAE Ambassador to India
  • Abdelrahman Al Maeeni, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Economy

Advancing Bilateral Cultural Collaboration

The meeting focused on activating the India-UAE Cultural Council, with discussions centered on deepening people-to-people connections and strengthening cooperation in arts, education, creative industries, heritage conservation, and youth engagement.

A major highlight was the proposal to establish an India House in the UAE—a dedicated cultural hub designed to showcase India’s rich artistic and cultural heritage to a global audience.

Both parties also explored:

  • Support for creative start-ups
  • Business-to-business partnerships in the cultural and creative sectors
  • Creation of thematic sub-committees to guide collaboration across strategic focus areas

Shared Vision for Cultural Flourishing

H.E. Noura Al Kaabi described the meeting as a reflection of the shared commitment between the UAE and India to advance meaningful cultural and creative partnerships:

“By expanding cultural exchanges and fostering collaboration across our dynamic art and creative communities, we are ensuring the enduring ties between our two nations continue to flourish.”

Commitment to Action-Oriented Outcomes

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to implementing outcome-driven initiatives aligned with the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
