President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Prabowo Subianto, President of Indonesia, convened today at Qasr Al Watan to advance the strategic relations between their nations and explore opportunities under the UAE-Indonesia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA).

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed extended a warm welcome to President Subianto, expressing his hopes for the visit to deepen the decades-long partnership between the UAE and Indonesia. He acknowledged the significant progress in bilateral relations and commended former Indonesian President Joko Widodo for his contributions.

The discussions highlighted shared priorities in infrastructure, renewable energy, food security, healthcare, climate action, education, sustainable agriculture, and tourism. The leaders also reviewed cultural connections and reaffirmed their commitment to resolving regional and global challenges through peaceful means.

In 2023, UAE-Indonesia non-oil trade grew by 12%, reaching $4.6 billion. Both leaders reiterated the CEPA's goal of increasing trade to $10 billion, emphasizing its role in fostering economic growth.

President Subianto expressed gratitude for the UAE’s hospitality and welcomed agreements announced during the visit, underscoring their potential to broaden bilateral cooperation. Writing in the Qasr Al Watan guestbook, he expressed aspirations for continued prosperity in the UAE-Indonesian relationship.

The talks concluded with an official luncheon hosted by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed, attended by senior UAE and Indonesian officials, highlighting the significance of the enduring ties between the two nations.
