The agreement was signed on behalf of the UAE by Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State, and by Siaosi Sovaleni, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Tonga.

Al Sayegh underscored the UAE's keenness to strengthen relations with the Kingdom of Tonga, and the various opportunities to enhance cooperation between the two nations in different fields.

Furthermore, Al Sayegh stressed the importance of enhancing collective action to ensure environmental sustainability, and that the UAE is committed to cooperating with the international community to reduce the effects of climate change and find solutions to this critical file.

For his part, Prime Minister Sovaleni underscored the keenness of the Kingdom of Tonga to strengthen bilateral collaboration in areas of mutual concern to serve the common interests of the two countries at various levels.
