The UAE Accountability Authority and the State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority of Oman have signed a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in oversight and governance.
The agreement marks a step forward in strengthening transparency and accountability efforts between the two nations.
The MoU was formalized during a meeting in Abu Dhabi between Humaid Obaid Abushibs, President of the UAE Accountability Authority, and Sheikh Ghosn Hilal Al Alawi, Chairman of Oman’s State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority.
Both sides emphasized that the agreement reinforces their shared commitment to upholding integrity, safeguarding public resources, and advancing good governance practices. The partnership also aims to support sustainable development through stronger institutional collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The move reflects growing regional efforts to consolidate oversight mechanisms and ensure that accountability standards keep pace with evolving governance needs. By aligning their approaches, the UAE and Oman seek to enhance the effectiveness of public sector auditing and reinforce trust in state institutions.
