Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of Foreign Trade, has met Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong and Dr. Tan See Leng, Minister for Energy, Trade and Industry, to discuss ways to expand trade and investment cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdulnasser Jamal Al Shaali, UAE Ambassador to Singapore. Both sides focused on growing bilateral trade and investment, sharing expertise to support sustainable economic growth, and encouraging companies and investors to turn opportunities into practical projects that strengthen the private sector’s role.

During the visit, Al Zeyoudi also met Singaporean investors, business leaders and senior figures from leading companies and economic institutions. Those talks looked at expanding mutual investment, identifying new areas of partnership and tapping the potential of both markets.

Al Zeyoudi said the partnership with Singapore continues to grow on solid foundations. He added that stronger ties between business communities and smoother trade and investment flows will open new opportunities for companies in both countries, and that the UAE is committed to deeper cooperation in priority sectors.

The numbers show the momentum. Bilateral non-oil trade reached US$6.54 billion in 2025, up 25.3 percent from US$5.2 billion in 2024. The UAE is Singapore’s largest trading partner in the Middle East, and UAE direct investment in Singapore totalled US$5.12 billion between 2021 and 2025.

Some 230 Singaporean companies now operate in the UAE, with real estate, hospitality and tourism, energy, telecommunications, and transportation and warehousing among the leading sectors.
