The UAE advanced its push for cleaner aviation as senior industry leaders gathered at Dubai Airshow 2025 for an Executive Committee Networking Breakfast co-hosted by Eng Sharif Al Olama from the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and Gabriel Semelas, President of Airbus Africa and the Middle East.
The meeting brought together members of the UAE Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Low-Carbon Aviation Fuel Committee, including government bodies, regulators, airlines, fuel producers and industry partners. The goal was to reinforce cooperation across the national ecosystem and accelerate efforts to expand the availability and deployment of sustainable fuels.
Eng Al Olama said the UAE is playing an increasingly active role in shaping the future of aviation, highlighting the country’s growing engagement in sustainability pathways. He noted that the gathering underscores a collaborative approach that brings public and private stakeholders together to drive progress on sustainable and low-carbon fuel solutions.
He added that Airbus remains a long-standing partner and that its participation reflects a shared commitment to a cleaner and more innovative aviation sector. He reaffirmed the UAE’s ambition to build a global hub for low-carbon fuels, green hydrogen and advanced clean-energy industries, stressing that partnerships with strategic players are essential to turning long-term goals into practical action.
Semelas said the UAE continues to lead in aviation innovation and that Airbus is proud to support efforts that accelerate the adoption of sustainable aviation solutions. He said the Dubai Airshow gathering demonstrates the belief that unified industry action is crucial to unlocking the full potential of sustainable aviation fuels.
