Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, met with Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, to advance bilateral cooperation in transport, infrastructure, and digital innovation.
The high-level meeting, held in the UAE, focused on activating the joint Memorandum of Understanding between the two nations. Discussions centered on exchanging technical and administrative expertise, supporting national workforce development, and launching joint initiatives in sustainable mobility, autonomous transport, and digital transformation.
Both ministers emphasized the strategic importance of building integrated infrastructure across maritime, air, and land transport. They explored opportunities to enhance the competitiveness of regional ports and align with global advancements in logistics and maritime services.
“This meeting was an ideal opportunity to build advanced partnerships that contribute to a more interconnected and sustainable future,”
said Al Mazrouei, who highlighted the historic strength of UAE-Bahrain ties as a foundation for broader strategic collaboration.
Dr. Al Khalifa affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to developing a modern, sustainable transport system in line with Bahrain Vision 2030, adding that the country looks forward to leveraging the UAE’s successful models in infrastructure and logistics.
Also present were Eng. Hassan Mohammed Al Mansouri, Undersecretary for Infrastructure and Transport Affairs, and Hessa Al Malek, Advisor to the Minister for Maritime Transport Affairs, underscoring the meeting’s significance at both technical and strategic levels.
The visit reflects the shared ambition of the UAE and Bahrain to boost regional development through innovation, cooperation, and long-term infrastructure planning.
