The UAE Cabinet, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, has approved a series of strategic initiatives during its first meeting of the new government season at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi.
At the forefront was the approval of the National Policy for Economic Clusters, a framework designed to strengthen interconnected industries across the country. The policy is expected to add more than AED 30 billion annually to the national GDP and boost foreign trade by AED 15 billion over the next seven years. It aims to leverage the unique strengths of each emirate while enhancing global competitiveness in key sectors such as finance, tourism, food, space, and data analytics.
The Cabinet also endorsed the agenda for the UAE Government Annual Meetings, scheduled for November 4–6 in Abu Dhabi, which will bring together 500 senior officials to discuss priorities including education, healthcare, family values, the economy, and artificial intelligence.
In healthcare, the Cabinet approved the establishment of the UAE Council for Integrative Medicine, chaired by Sheikha Salama bint Tahnoon bin Mohammed Al Nahyan. The Council will oversee the development of guidelines and treatment protocols that combine modern and traditional practices to enhance patient care.
Environmental sustainability also featured prominently, with the approval of an updated National Plan for Reducing Aviation Emissions, along with reviews of national air quality and biodiversity strategies.
Other key decisions included advancing the UAE Genomics Council’s work, strengthening national cybersecurity policies, restructuring several federal councils, ratifying 85 international agreements, and approving the hosting of 12 major international events.
Sheikh Mohammed affirmed that all national teams are progressing in line with the country’s long-term vision for prosperity and competitiveness.
