The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates has issued a limited-edition silver commemorative coin to mark Emirati Children’s Day, observed annually on 15 March.

The initiative highlights the country’s continued focus on strengthening national identity among younger generations while celebrating the cultural values that shape Emirati society.

The silver coin carries a face value of 15 dirhams, symbolically referencing the date of the national occasion. On the obverse side, the coin features the denomination “15 dirhams” surrounded by the inscription “Central Bank of the UAE” in both Arabic and English.

The reverse side reflects this year’s theme, “The Right to Identity and National Culture.” The design includes an artistic illustration of a traditional fort, representing the UAE’s historical roots and reinforcing the importance of cultural heritage in shaping a child’s sense of belonging.

Speaking on the occasion, Saif Humaid Al Dhaheri, Assistant Governor for Banking Operations and Support Services at the Central Bank, said the issuance reflects the institution’s commitment to supporting national initiatives that strengthen Emirati identity and promote the values of citizenship and belonging across the community.

He also acknowledged the role of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood in safeguarding children’s rights and nurturing their understanding of national identity and heritage.

A total of 2,000 coins have been minted, each weighing 28 grams of silver. The Central Bank said the commemorative coins will be available for purchase, with details on the release date and purchasing process to be announced later through its official website and social media platforms.
