The UAE has wrapped up an eight-day economic tour across five South American nations, marking one of its most ambitious pushes yet to deepen trade ties with the region and strengthen its role as a global hub for commerce and investment.

Led by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade, the delegation visited Panama, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and Guyana under the banner of "UAE Trade Days." The group included representatives from government bodies and Emirati companies spanning technology, renewable energy, agriculture, logistics, mining, financial services and security solutions.

Across all five countries, officials held meetings with heads of state and senior decision-makers, alongside business forums and bilateral sessions between UAE and local private sector representatives. The talks centered on boosting non-oil trade, encouraging mutual investment and helping Emirati firms establish a foothold in Latin American markets.

A key moment came with the UAE's participation in the Mercosur Summit in Asunción, Paraguay, underscoring its interest in engaging more closely with regional economic blocs. Non-oil trade between the UAE and Mercosur nations reached 6.2 billion dollars in 2025.

Al Zeyoudi said the tour reflects the UAE's growing economic ties with South America and has opened new avenues for cooperation in priority sectors. He added that the momentum behind these relations rests on a shared vision of building lasting partnerships that serve mutual economic interests.

Government and business leaders across the visited countries described the UAE as a dependable economic partner with a growing influence in linking global markets.

The tour supports the UAE's broader ambition of doubling its non-oil foreign trade and cementing its position as a vital link between East and West.
