The UAE Council for Fatwa said it's okay to give Zakat Al Fitr in money, recommending AED25 per person in 1445 AH.

This is a must for all Muslims who can afford it, no matter their age or gender. The head of the family should pay for their spouse, kids, and others they take care of. Before Eid Al Fitr, the Council explained that Zakat Al Fitr is necessary, following a saying from Ibn Omar, where the Prophet Muhammad made it a must to give charity at the end of Ramadan, either in barley or dates. The UAE Council of Fatwa also said Zakat Al Fitr equals 2.5 kilograms of rice per person, and you can give it as rice or money.
