The UAE Economic Integration Committee has reinforced its push for stronger federal and local coordination, as officials convened for the third meeting of 2026 to accelerate economic diversification and enhance the country’s global competitiveness.

Chaired by Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, the session brought together directors general of local economic departments to align strategies amid evolving global economic conditions. Discussions highlighted sustained investor confidence and underscored the private sector’s role in maintaining resilient supply chains.

The committee reviewed progress by the newly established economic legislation team, which is working to modernise regulatory frameworks in support of long term, sustainable growth. Al Marri noted that the UAE’s economic model continues to effectively navigate regional and international challenges, crediting coordinated governance and forward looking policies.

Officials also examined the integration of the National Economic Registry with government entities. The move is expected to streamline data exchange and improve accuracy for more than 1.4 million active companies operating across the country.

In addition, preparations for the upcoming Financial Action Task Force mutual evaluation in 2026 were discussed. The committee emphasised strengthening anti money laundering systems and enhancing transparency around beneficial ownership as part of ongoing compliance efforts.

The meeting reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to building a diversified, resilient economy supported by robust regulatory systems and unified institutional collaboration.
