Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, held pivotal discussions with Egyptian officials Lieutenant General Kamel El Wazir and Dr. Rania Al Mashat during the 114th session of the Arab Economic and Social Council.

The meeting, which took place at the League of Arab States headquarters in Cairo, was aimed at enhancing economic cooperation between the UAE and Egypt across multiple sectors.

Lieutenant General El Wazir, Egypt’s Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, and Dr. Al Mashat, Egypt's Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, engaged with Bin Touq to explore collaborative opportunities in new economy sectors, transportation, entrepreneurship, infrastructure, circular economy, agriculture, and industry.

Highlighting the deep-rooted strategic relations between the two nations, Bin Touq emphasized the UAE's commitment to strengthening economic ties through joint initiatives. He underscored the significance of the Ras Al Hikma development project, noting it as the largest foreign direct investment (FDI) in Egypt's history and a milestone in bilateral relations.

Discussions with El Wazir focused on advancing infrastructure and logistics projects, while the dialogue with Dr. Al Mashat addressed potential financing and expertise sharing for new joint ventures.

Bin Touq also highlighted the UAE's ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision, aiming to position the UAE as a global hub for the new economy by 2031, supported by legislative and policy reforms.

In closing, Bin Touq invited both Egyptian ministers to the fourth edition of Investopia in February 2025, a key event for exploring investment opportunities in the UAE.
