The United Arab Emirates is positioned to lead a new global era where clean energy and artificial intelligence converge, according to Arshad Mansoor, President and CEO of the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).
During the World Green Economy Summit in Dubai, Mansoor highlighted the UAE’s unique mix of resources, advanced energy projects, and growing investments in AI and data centers. He said this combination sets the country apart as a model for balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability.
Mansoor pointed to flagship initiatives such as the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park as central to the UAE’s clean energy portfolio. He also noted the role of homegrown technology leaders like G42, which, along with major global AI firms, is building one of the world’s largest data centers in the UAE.
This integration of renewable and nuclear energy with artificial intelligence, Mansoor said, positions the UAE to chart a new global pathway where clean electricity powers knowledge, and knowledge drives solutions to protect the planet.
By aligning its energy transition with cutting-edge technologies, the UAE is strengthening its role as a hub for innovation and sustainability, offering a blueprint for other nations seeking to balance prosperity with climate responsibility.
