Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, has reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to clean and renewable energy, highlighting its vital role in stabilising global energy markets and driving sustainable development.
Speaking on the occasion of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, Al Mazrouei emphasised the UAE's balanced energy strategy, which integrates traditional and renewable sources as part of the UAE Energy Strategy 2050 and National Hydrogen Strategy 2050.
The minister reiterated the nation's dedication to achieving its Net Zero 2050 Strategy through ambitious renewable energy projects, aiming to ensure a diversified and sustainable energy sector that fosters innovation and long-term growth. He also underscored the expansion of electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure, supported by a national policy promoting the adoption of EVs and hybrid vehicles. This policy includes a strategic pricing framework for fast and regular charging services to attract investments in EV infrastructure.
Under visionary leadership, the UAE achieved top rankings in seven global energy competitiveness indicators in 2024, showcasing its accomplishments in the energy sector. Al Mazrouei highlighted the Ministry's collaborative efforts with federal and local authorities to implement impactful projects across key industries, including petrochemicals, hydrogen, and ammonia.
