The United Arab Emirates has solidified its position as one of the top three foreign investors in the Republic of Belarus, with a direct investment of approximately USD 300 million out of a total USD 1.7 billion in foreign direct investment, according to 2024 data.

The announcement was made by Denis Meleshkin, Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, during the AIM Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi.

This year marks Belarus’ first official participation in the global investment summit, where it is showcasing its economic strengths through a national pavilion featuring seven companies and a delegation of 10 firms — including representatives from the country’s free economic zones, which offer tax incentives and favorable business conditions.

Meleshkin highlighted Belarus’ growing appeal to international investors, particularly in sectors such as information technology, logistics, retail, and consumer goods. He emphasized the strategic importance of Belarus’ geographic location, positioned at the intersection of major transport corridors between the EU and Russia, and along the expanding North–South international trade route.

“Belarus is ready to offer its infrastructure and services as a logistics hub for both regional and transcontinental cargo flows,”

Meleshkin noted, adding that the interest shown by UAE and other investors is a testament to the country’s rising economic potential.

He expressed optimism that Belarus’ participation in AIM will become a regular feature, leveraging the forum as a platform to attract new investment and promote its dynamic, investor-friendly sectors to the global business community.
