Employers across the UAE can ask their employees to do overwork time per the Labour Relations Law.
Companies can call on their staff to work beyond the stipulated timeframe, as long as it does not exceed two hours a day, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has said.
Taking to Twitter, the ministry said that overtime work can exceed two hours a day if the assignment or work is essential to evade any loss or incidents or to eliminate or mitigate its effects.
However, the total number of an employee’s working hours should not cross 144 every three weeks.
