Over 10,000 air-conditioned rest stations will shield UAE delivery workers from summer heat during the 2025 Midday Break, a significant expansion of a vital humanitarian initiative, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced.

From June 15 to September 15, the Midday Break prohibits outdoor work from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm to protect workers from heat exhaustion. This year’s program, running across all Emirates, doubles last year’s 6,000 rest stations, offering delivery workers access to comfort amenities like cold water, hydration supplies, and first aid.

The initiative unites government bodies, including Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority and Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre, with private sector partners like Talabat, Deliveroo, Noon, and Careem. Restaurants, shopping centers, and cloud kitchens also contribute, ensuring stations are accessible via interactive app maps.

Delivery services, a critical logistical sector, face unique challenges as workers operate without fixed locations and must deliver items swiftly. The rest stations address these demands while prioritizing worker safety.

The Ministry praised the collaborative effort and urged the public to report violations of Midday Break rules via its call center, smart app, or website, reinforcing compliance to safeguard workers.
