Last week, the Ministry of Education successfully conducted the 'Specialised Training Week,' drawing over 23,000 educators, including teachers, school leaders, and specialists from across the UAE.

This event aimed to prepare educational personnel for the new academic year by providing them with the latest tools and methodologies in education.

Khaled Al Remeithi, Director of Educational Strategy Development at the Presidential Court and alumnus of the National Experts Programme, underscored the critical need for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for teachers.

“As technology and educational trends evolve rapidly, CPD becomes essential. It allows educators to engage in workshops, seminars, and courses to enhance their skills and stay current with new teaching methods and technologies,”

Al Remeithi stated.

Highlighting the importance of CPD, Al Remeithi noted that it fosters a culture of innovation and adaptability in schools. He also addressed a major challenge for public schools: reducing teacher burnout by cutting down administrative tasks. Citing recent data, he revealed that automating routine tasks could free up 20 to 40 percent of teachers' time, allowing them to focus more on student learning.

Al Remeithi also emphasized the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in transforming education. He cited examples of AI tools, such as ChatGPT, which can serve as personalized tutors, enhancing student engagement and creating more inclusive learning environments. He advocated for the ethical use of AI, such as improving grammar and comprehension, to support students' real-world communication skills.

To stay ahead of technological advancements, Al Remeithi recommended ongoing professional learning, peer collaboration, and hands-on classroom experimentation. He encouraged educators to engage with educational technology journals, attend webinars, and utilize platforms like the Mohammed Bin Rashid Smart Learning Programme.

Al Remeithi also highlighted the pivotal role of parental involvement in education, emphasizing that supportive parents can significantly boost students' academic development and career aspirations.
