The UAE Food Bank has entered into an agreement with the Endowment and Minors' Trust Foundation (Awqaf Dubai) to enhance community responsibility and encourage charitable contributions from both the public and private sectors. This partnership aims to recognize the efforts of those who support the UAE Food Bank’s initiatives by awarding them the prestigious ‘Waqf’ (endowment) mark, a symbol of sustainable community involvement endorsed by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy.

The agreement was signed by His Excellency Dawoud Al Hajri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Food Bank’s Board of Trustees, and His Excellency Ali Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of Awqaf Dubai. This partnership strengthens coordination efforts to attract more donors and increase the impact of the UAE Food Bank’s charitable activities.

Al Hajri emphasized that this initiative reflects the UAE Food Bank’s commitment to fostering collaboration across sectors, while recognizing donors who demonstrate a commitment to humanitarian values and social unity. Through awareness campaigns, the UAE Food Bank aims to build a compassionate society and set an example for sustainable development.

Al Mutawa highlighted that the agreement not only streamlines community contributions to charity but also encourages innovative endowment efforts. This partnership allows more individuals and organizations to attain the ‘Waqf’ mark by contributing sustainably to community welfare. Awqaf Dubai is committed to working alongside institutions to enhance the social impact of charitable endowments and foster a culture of generosity across diverse groups.

As part of the agreement, the UAE Food Bank will monitor the entities receiving the ‘Waqf’ mark, ensuring adherence to standards set by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy. In cases of non-compliance, the Food Bank will notify the Centre, which is responsible for awarding and regulating the ‘Waqf’ mark.

The ‘Waqf’ mark, an initiative of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Global Centre for Endowment Consultancy, recognizes public and private entities that demonstrate sustainable community engagement through innovative endowment concepts. This agreement solidifies the UAE Food Bank’s mission of promoting humanitarian values and fostering a collaborative approach to charity and social impact.
