The United Arab Emirates is preparing for a lively Eid Al Fitr holiday, with festivals, entertainment programmes and retail promotions set to draw residents and visitors across the country from March 19 to 22.

Cities and public spaces are being transformed with festive lights and decorations, while shopping centres report increased footfall as residents purchase clothing, sweets and gifts ahead of the celebrations. Seasonal promotions have further driven retail activity during the lead-up to the holiday.

In Abu Dhabi, family-focused events take centre stage, led by the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, which continues to host large-scale cultural and entertainment programmes with international participation. Al Ain will also host the second edition of the Ghaitah Al Ain festival from March 20 to 27, featuring live performances and activities for all age groups.

Dubai is set to offer a wide range of experiences, including citywide entertainment events and hotel packages. The Season of Wulfa continues until March 23, while Expo City Dubai will stage special Eid celebrations from March 20 to 22.

Sharjah’s Ramadan Festival 2026 extends into Eid, blending retail offers with cultural experiences and showcasing local and international businesses. Visitors can also explore a variety of leisure and heritage destinations across the emirate.

Other emirates are also enhancing their holiday offerings. Ajman highlights its heritage sites, while Umm Al Qaiwain promotes leisure attractions such as water parks and marine clubs. Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah are positioning themselves as key holiday destinations with outdoor adventures, beaches and resort experiences.

The nationwide programme underscores the UAE’s appeal as a diverse and family-friendly destination during one of the year’s most anticipated holidays.
