The UAE has set a new course for its foreign trade future with the launch of the UAE Global Centre of Trade, a nationwide programme unveiled in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The initiative aims to reinforce the country’s position as one of the leading hubs of international commerce by expanding market access, boosting non-oil exports and attracting major global trading companies.

Sheikh Mohammed said the programme will help bring the world’s top 1,000 international trading firms to the UAE while introducing a digital gateway that connects thousands of local exporters with global markets. He noted that the strategy will expand opportunities for Emirati products and strengthen the country’s role within global trade routes.

Developed by the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the programme features eight initiatives designed to increase non-oil exports, empower exporters with advanced tools, attract global firms and identify new market openings. Partners include ministries, government agencies, chambers of commerce and major logistics players.

The launch comes amid strong non-oil trade performance. In the first nine months of 2025, the UAE recorded AED2.67 trillion in non-oil trade, a 24.6 percent rise year-on-year. Non-oil exports reached AED579.4 billion during the same period, up more than 42 percent from 2024.

Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi said the programme reflects the leadership’s view that trade is a key driver of growth, innovation and diversification. He added that new tools using AI, streamlined export processes and global promotional efforts will help the UAE secure a larger share of international commerce.

With a focus on technology, talent development and global partnerships, the UAE Global Centre of Trade is set to elevate the country’s role as a central crossroads for international trade flows.
