The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR) has announced that the Hijri New Year holiday for 1447 AH will be observed on Friday, June 27, 2025, for all ministries and federal entities across the UAE.

In an official circular issued on Monday, FAHR confirmed the date and extended warm congratulations to the UAE’s leadership, citizens, and residents. The Authority also conveyed its best wishes to Arab and Islamic nations, expressing hopes for peace, prosperity, and good health.

The holiday marks the beginning of the Islamic lunar calendar and is observed annually across the Muslim world. While the occasion is religious in nature, it is also a time of reflection and renewal.

As the date falls on a Friday, federal employees are expected to benefit from a long weekend, aligning with the UAE’s Friday–Sunday workweek. No additional days off were announced in the circular.

The announcement is part of the UAE’s broader effort to provide clarity on public sector holidays, supporting work-life balance and effective planning across government operations.
