UAE Integrates MoFA and MOI Services for Seamless Digital Attestation of Clear Criminal Record Certificates
In a landmark move towards seamless government services, the Ministry of Interior (MOI) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) have announced the electronic integration of their services as part of the UAE’s Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme.
This initiative aims to enhance efficiency by linking MoFA’s document attestation service with MOI’s clear criminal record certificate issuance service, streamlining multiple transactions into a single digital process.
Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Undersecretary of MOI, reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to strengthening integrated government operations in alignment with the UAE’s vision for enhanced citizen services. He emphasized that eliminating unnecessary procedures through the Zero Government Bureaucracy Programme will contribute to the nation’s leadership in government service excellence.
Omar Obaid Hassan AlShamsi, Undersecretary of MoFA, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the ministry’s dedication to developing an interconnected government system. He noted that this digital transformation aligns with the UAE leadership’s vision of offering proactive and innovative services that improve the well-being of citizens and residents.
Through this integration, customers can now obtain digital attestation from MOI, MoFA, and the UAE embassy in their destination country within three minutes—drastically reducing the previous six-day processing time. Additionally, delivery fees have been eliminated, further simplifying the process.
Applicants seeking a clear criminal record certificate through MOI’s digital channels can opt for MoFA attestation directly from their MOI account, ensuring a seamless and centralized transaction. The system electronically forwards certificates to MoFA for attestation, enhancing accessibility and efficiency.
Moreover, any service-related complaints can now be submitted via MOI’s website and application, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to customer satisfaction and digital excellence. This initiative sets a new benchmark in integrated e-government services, reaffirming the nation’s status as a global leader in digital governance.
