In a landmark move to revolutionize the sports sector, the UAE has launched the Digital Transformation and Sports Innovation Platform.
The initiative was formalized through an agreement between the Ministry of Sports and the National Olympic Committee (NOC) in the presence of H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the NOC. Also in attendance was Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports, who will chair the new entity overseeing digital transformation in the sector.
The platform aims to integrate AI-powered solutions to enhance athlete performance, improve governance, and align with the National Sports Strategy 2031. The agreement was signed by Ghanem Mubarak Al Hajeri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Sports, and Faris Mohammed Al Mutawa, Secretary-General of the NOC.
H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed emphasized that true sports development requires a sustainable, future-ready system, adding that the platform will elevate Emirati sports by leveraging knowledge and innovation. He reaffirmed the NOC’s commitment to strengthening the UAE’s presence in the global Olympic movement.
Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi highlighted the essential role of digital transformation in ensuring sustainable progress, noting that the platform will provide an integrated, tech-driven environment for performance analysis, talent development, and smart governance.
Key objectives of the platform include:
- Developing a data-driven digital sports infrastructure
- Implementing AI-based performance analytics for athletes
- Providing smart digital solutions for clubs and federations
- Offering specialized training programs for sports professionals
- Establishing strategic partnerships with national and global sports entities
In the coming weeks, the platform will unveil its institutional identity and announce a board of directors featuring key figures from the sports and technology sectors. As a first-of-its-kind initiative, it solidifies the UAE’s commitment to shaping an innovation-led sports ecosystem on a regional and global scale.
