The UAE unveiled a pioneering suite of consular services for Golden Visa holders during GITEX Global 2025, marking the world’s first initiative of its kind.

The announcement, made through a partnership between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), reinforces the nation’s drive to enhance support for its growing community of long-term residents.

The launch event, held in Dubai, was attended by Omar Obaid Alhesan Alshamsi, Undersecretary at MoFA, and Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of ICP, along with senior officials and visitors at the region’s largest technology exhibition.

The initiative supports the directive of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who declared 2025 the “Year of Community” under the theme “Hand in Hand.” It reflects the UAE Government’s commitment to fostering innovation, efficiency, and collaboration in public services, while positioning the country as a global hub for talent, investors, and innovators.

Alshamsi highlighted that the new services align with the leadership’s vision to make the UAE one of the most competitive nations for global talent. He said the partnership creates a comprehensive system of care for Golden Visa holders both within and outside the country.

Major General Al Khaili added that the move represents a major step in government integration, focused on developing smart, people-centered solutions.

The new package includes an electronic return document for lost or damaged passports, a dedicated support hotline, and 24/7 emergency response through MoFA’s Call Centre. For the first time, Golden Visa holders will also receive crisis and repatriation assistance, extending benefits previously exclusive to UAE citizens.
