The UAE government recently marked its participation in the official inauguration of the Global Government Technology Centre (GGTC) in Berlin.
This pioneering initiative, a collaboration between the World Economic Forum and GovTech Campus Deutschland, aims to unlock the transformative potential of digital technologies in reshaping public services globally.
As the latest addition to the World Economic Forum’s Fourth Industrial Revolution network, the GGTC is the first centre exclusively focused on advancing GovTech solutions to accelerate digital transformation across governments worldwide. The opening ceremony featured prominent attendees, including Mohammed bin Taliah, Chief of Government Services in the UAE, Børge Brende, President of the World Economic Forum, and Dr. Markus Richter, State Secretary at Germany’s Federal Ministry of the Interior.
In his remarks, bin Taliah reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance operational efficiency and the quality of government services. He highlighted the UAE's belief in technology’s crucial role in driving development and modernisation within the government sector.
“Our involvement in the launch of the GGTC underscores our dedication to global cooperation in deploying technology to enhance digital government services,”
bin Taliah stated. He commended the collaboration between the German government and the World Economic Forum, emphasising the GGTC's potential to support digital transformation efforts across governments.
The event also included bin Taliah's participation in a session on "Making Remote Judiciary Services Work," where he showcased the UAE's pioneering initiatives in digital court proceedings. He engaged in discussions on leveraging technology to enhance governance and public value, underscoring the importance of international cooperation in the GovTech sector.
