The Federal Geographic Information Centre has unveiled the UAE National Atlas, a comprehensive geographic reference, to coincide with the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations.
This milestone document highlights the nation’s achievements over the past 50 years while paving the way for future aspirations.
The atlas provides detailed insights into the UAE's social, economic, environmental, and historical developments. It includes geographic data, indicators, aerial photographs, and satellite images, covering sectors such as education, health, energy, culture, heritage, transportation, and telecommunications. A dedicated chapter chronicles the UAE's journey to the Union, from the founding fathers' efforts in 1968 to the declaration of the nation in December 1971.
The National Atlas showcases the UAE's progress through spatial geographic analysis, offering a reliable source of data for understanding the country’s evolution under visionary leadership. Produced in collaboration with federal and official entities, the atlas aligns with the national strategy for geographic information infrastructure, contributing to the UAE’s knowledge economy and its Centennial 2071 vision.
Complementing this release, the Centre had earlier launched the digital Union Atlas in September 2023, accessible via the "UAE Atlas" app and official websites. Together, these resources underline the UAE's commitment to innovation and documentation of its remarkable journey.
