The UAE government has announced the launch of the "Unified UAE Numbers" project, a pioneering national initiative designed to enhance the country's statistical system and support its developmental goals across various sectors, including the economy, society, environment, and renewable energy.
The announcement was made during an event attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, along with key officials from local statistical centres and executive councils.
The project aims to position the UAE as a global leader in leveraging data and statistics for effective decision-making. It focuses on three core areas: fostering a proactive economy, supporting societal well-being, and promoting sustainable environmental practices. Sheikh Mansour highlighted the importance of advanced technology and innovative data solutions in enhancing decision-making processes, underscoring the UAE’s commitment to maintaining global competitiveness.
He praised the collaborative efforts between federal and local authorities, led by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, and noted that data serves as the foundation for the UAE’s development efforts, uniting stakeholders into a cohesive national team.
Key features of the project include streamlining the national statistical release calendar, producing accurate indicators, and enhancing global rankings in areas like GDP, inflation, and foreign investment. The initiative also envisions a shift toward integrated digital surveys, improving data accuracy and promoting a unified digital environment for intelligent data collection and analysis.
By fostering international cooperation and adopting cutting-edge technologies, the "Unified UAE Numbers" project seeks to reinforce the UAE’s position as a leader in data-driven policymaking and sustainable development.
