Oracle, a global leader in IT and database solutions, has reaffirmed the UAE's position as a frontrunner in the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing technologies.
The company attributes this growth to proactive government initiatives that foster technological innovation and optimise its benefits across the region.
Ahmed Adly, Vice President of Cloud Engineering for the Middle East and Africa, revealed that the UAE not only actively uses AI but is also at the forefront of developing it. Adly noted that the UAE and Saudi Arabia are leading the Middle East in both AI and cloud adoption.
Oracle further announced plans to expand its cloud computing centre in the UAE by five times over the next year, aiming to meet growing regional and local demand. This move will solidify the UAE’s role as a regional and global hub for cloud computing services.
Adly also stressed the importance of investing in human capital to drive digital transformation, with Oracle launching a programme to train 350,000 individuals in AI and cloud technologies in the coming years.
The UAE’s growing significance as a global tech destination is also underscored by its hosting of the largest Oracle CloudWorld event in the region, reaffirming its central role in the global tech landscape.
