The United Arab Emirates has become the top destination for Egyptian engineering exports in 2025, highlighting the sector’s steady expansion amid global market challenges.

Data from the Engineering Export Council of Egypt, under the Ministry of Trade and Industry, shows that Egypt’s engineering exports grew 12 percent between January and August 2025, reaching US$4.187 billion compared to US$3.746 billion over the same period in 2024.

May Helmy, Executive Director of the Council, noted that several target markets saw significant growth, with notable increases in exports to Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Arab markets, particularly the UAE, emerged as key drivers of this expansion.

Sherif El Sayad, Chairman of the Council, said the sector’s performance reflects its enhanced competitiveness on the global stage, despite international economic challenges. He emphasized that current export levels are the highest ever recorded for an eight-month period.

The Council projects that Egyptian engineering exports could reach US$6 billion by the end of 2025, underlining the sector’s pivotal role in the country’s trade and industrial strategy.
