Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, highlighted the UAE's pivotal role in shaping the future of global supply chains at the International Procurement and Supply Chain Conference (IPSC) 2025.

Addressing over 500 global leaders and industry experts, Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the country’s vision to drive resilient, secure, and innovative supply chain systems, positioning the UAE as a global role model.

At the event held in Dubai under the theme "Redefining Global Trade: The UAE Shaping Sustainable Supply Chains for the Future," Sheikh Nahyan spoke of the critical importance of supply chains, comparing them to the electricity in homes—often unnoticed until disrupted. He underscored how recent global crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, have exposed vulnerabilities and the need for adaptable, data-driven systems.

The Minister also credited the UAE’s robust infrastructure investments in ports, airports, free zones, and manufacturing as key drivers of the nation’s leadership in this space. These efforts, supported by the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, have positioned the UAE at the forefront of sustainable trade innovation.

Emphasizing collaboration, Sheikh Nahyan welcomed international partnerships, viewing supply chains as integral to national security, economic growth, and global innovation. The conference also spotlighted AI-powered logistics and green procurement practices as vital to the future of sustainable trade.

In line with these ambitions, Dr. Sathya Menon, Group CEO of Blue Ocean Corporation, reiterated that the UAE is not just adapting to sustainable trade demands but leading the way toward a more resilient global supply chain framework. The next edition of IPSC will be hosted in New Delhi, continuing the global dialogue on sustainable trade practices.
